My brother’s outlook was a blend of so many positive and modest expectations. Most of the things he enjoyed most cost very little. Tim loved the place he lived with no thought that he could be in a better place. Family, friendships, a good conversation, a walk with his many dogs, a dip in the lake or a peaceful kayak ride. Music was the rhythm of his life. He was always quick to listen to friends play and join in. Sing-alongs were some of his favorite gatherings. “Have gun will travel,” he’d say, but his weapons of choice were his guitar and his voice. I so appreciate the richness of his life and we all should be so lucky. This quote from the Wizard of Oz comes to mind when I think of Tim‘s life, “If ever I go looking for my heart’s desire again, I won’t look any further than my own back yard. Because if it isn’t there, I never really lost it to begin with.” Thank you, my brother, for leading by example and enriching my life with a blueprint of happiness.
